A friend of mine suggested I start by aiming to do 15 minutes a day instead of the 30 given how muchmy mind tends to race, and bounce around so much. I suppose it's similar to the concept of starting a new excersise program. When you haven't worked out in ages, you need to gradulally work your muscles into shape to do the same amount as those who have already been training. (I am also doing P90x for the last week, and I have had to do the "easing" into that as well - however not by choice :-) While I agree with this theory, I think I will try to go all in and do the fully time recommended daily. I found yesterday while still edgy, my mind did work through a couple problems clearly that I may not normally take time to do. Whatever the reason may have been, it's positive!

Engaging in the Process

I completed the Awakening - The Dive last night just before bed. Given that it was my second day trying the Holosync program, I found it was soothing, however a bit long. I found myself peeking at the clock, wanting to write down a few ideas or thoughts so I wouldn't forget them when I was through, and I was a bit restless/fidgety. Of course I assume this is normal for most not used to this sort of activity, but it is for that reason I am trying to give this program a good solid shot. As a typical ADD'er, i have a lot of trouble with my mind wandering from place to place and not turning off. It seems to focus on anything and everything except that which I am trying to focus on. That being the case for a good part of my life, I am really going to make a concerted effort to "Engage" in the process. During the course of my day all too often, as one thing is being undertaken, all of a sudden, the mind begins to skip ahead to what's next. As Eckhart Tolle say's in his bestseller "The Power of Now", you must be in the present, and focus on what is before you, here and now.

An Intro to my Holosync Journey

I am trying the Centerpointe Research Institute's Holosync Technology Program. I will attempt to do it daily, or at least 5 days a week, and update my journey here for you at least semi-weekly.

A bit about me before I begin my first session, I am 30 years-old, have a very active (often too active) mind and imagination, which I guess is medically described as ADHD. I do currently take medication for my ADHD, but would love to find an alternative treatment, or natural ADHD treatment for myself. I work in an office of just 3 people, at a "Fund of Funds", or an Investment company Family Office. You may say my current position is not suited for me, and I have become very anxious, withdrawn, and almost into a frozen like state of mind. So I will give this a shot and see where it can take me. Hopefully I can offer some valuable, objective insight as to the mind of ADHD, meditation, and potential home treatment for ADHD along the way.
